1. Montreux Jazz Festival
Montreux and the Lake Geneva region of Switzerland are gorgeous, temperate, and like visiting two countries in one go.
Stay on the lake and plan your trip around the end of June to the Beginning of July. During this time the whole city converts to the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival.
The lineup changes every year but has boasted James Brown and Marvin Gaye in the past.
Look out your window or walk down the coast path and see huge paddle boats. Gaze a little east and you’re looking straight at France.
Evian-Les-Bains, France actually, the next spot on our list.
2. Evian-Les-Bains
Yes, this is the Evian of the famous clear and pure Evian water. Named Evian “The Baths” there are pure springs running through this small French town.
These springs are heralded for their famous healing properties and purity. Their fame makes Evian a popular health-spa destination for the health conscious.
You can stay in Evian and use their famous spa services and take a boat to any other city on the lake.
Including Montreux, Geneva, Lausanne, and anything else on Lac Leman. Make sure to get some Evian facial spray and bottles of Evian to take home.
3. Lake Como Italy
To continue the idea of a beautiful city overlooking a huge lake, Lake Como Italy makes our list.
You can’t beat the clear and rippling water surrounded by rolling hills. Famous for it’s vacationing and tourism, there are plenty of luxury hotels to choose from.
Like Lac Leman, Lake Como has multiple cities to visit, all a boat ride away.
Have some gelato overlooking the lake while swans play in the water. Molto Bello!
Don’t forget to visit some silk shops and browse the goods.
Island Wise
You want something a little more tropical for your vacation? We have options for you. Let’s start off the coast of Africa with Seychelles.
4. Seychelles
This tiny dot on the map East of Africa and North of Madagascar is often forgotten. The group of 115 islands are so pure and beautiful, Sea Turtles bask in the sun on the beaches during the day.
You would not believe the untouched white-sand beauty of these islands. Once you get there, you’ll never want to leave. Make sure you find a hotel with ocean views and travel to a few different islands.
Want to experience Africa while you’re so close? Kenya and Tanzania are directly west. Schedule a safari tour before or after your island adventure.
5. Half Moon Resort Jamaica
You won’t experience Jamaica like this at any other resort. There is nothing they haven’t thought of at Half Moon, including beautiful views of Half Moon Bay.
During a stay at Half Moon, you may look out your window towards your ocean view and see the staff shimmying up trees. They’re cutting down coconuts so they don’t fall on your head!
If you’re lucky enough to see them do this, go outside! They’ll cut the coconut open and you’ll get the freshest coconut water you’ve ever had.

6. Fiji
You know the beautiful images on the water bottle brand Fiji’s labels? They’re no exaggeration.
Fiji’s combination of 333 tropical islands rests in Oceania or the South Pacific. Right over New Zealand, you get the heat of the equator offset by ocean breezes.
There’s not much inland Fiji. The beaches are everywhere! Stay and do a spa treatment overlooking the water at about every luxury hotel available.
Yoga retreats and meditations often frequent Fiji for it’s quiet and beautiful charm.
7. Zaborin, Japan
Technically an Island, Japan isn’t all about Sushi and Geishas. There are ancient natural hot springs all over the island.
Zaborin is the name of a hotel where you can experience these springs. We’re not kidding when we say these springs are hot, either.
Get the authentic Japanese feel and rest your body at the same time.
8. Dubai, UAE
Also technically on an Island (or peninsula) Dubai is another high-temperature destination. People have flocked to Dubai since it became the oil trading capital of the world.
You won’t see any luxury and modern buildings like you will in Dubai. They have some of the most impressive architecture in the world.
Rent a sports car and drive the streets, it’s the only way you’ll fit in.
Mountains
Want somewhere colder or fancy a day of skiing? Aspen and Whistler are beautiful and luxurious choices.
9. Aspen, Colorado
Aspen, Colorado has two mountains to ski on, Aspen and Snowmass. Both boast some of the best bowls and views in the world, which is why it is a famous celebrity vacation spot.
Aspen is one of the farthest ski resorts in Colorado, so make sure you fly into Aspen if you can. The drive from Denver is about four or five hours.
10. Whistler, Canada
Want some intense skiing? Whistler is where it’s at. You can easily hop in a helicopter and go heli-skiing in this Canadian resort.
That is if you’re brave enough. The Northern Rocky Mountains and the Canadian weather make wonderful snow, but you’d better know what you’re doing!
