Montreux and the Lake Geneva region of Switzerland are gorgeous, temperate, and like visiting two countries in one go.

Stay on the lake and plan your trip around the end of June to the Beginning of July. During this time the whole city converts to the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival.

The lineup changes every year but has boasted James Brown and Marvin Gaye in the past.

Look out your window or walk down the coast path and see huge paddle boats. Gaze a little east and you’re looking straight at France.

2. Evian-Les-Bains

Yes, this is the Evian of the famous clear and pure Evian water. Named Evian “The Baths” there are pure springs running through this small French town.

These springs are heralded for their famous healing properties and purity. Their fame makes Evian a popular health-spa destination for the health conscious.

You can stay in Evian and use their famous spa services and take a boat to any other city on the lake.

Including Montreux, Geneva, Lausanne, and anything else on Lac Leman. Make sure to get some Evian facial spray and bottles of Evian to take home.

3. Lake Como Italy

To continue the idea of a beautiful city overlooking a huge lake, Lake Como Italy makes our list.

You can’t beat the clear and rippling water surrounded by rolling hills. Famous for it’s vacationing and tourism, there are plenty of luxury hotels to choose from.

Want somewhere colder or fancy a day of skiing? Aspen and Whistler are beautiful and luxurious choices.

Aspen, Colorado has two mountains to ski on, Aspen and Snowmass. Both boast some of the best bowls and views in the world, which is why it is a famous celebrity vacation spot.
