1. Pulpit Rock

Pulpit Rock is a blade of rock extending out over Grose Valley. Several lookouts on the Pulpit give views across the valley out to Govetts Leap. These lookouts give the viewer a superb view of the whole valley, to Mount Banks.

2. Wentworth Falls

Wentworth Falls is where Jamison Creek tumbles down three tiers of ledges and into a pool, which flows into a creek into the Valley of the Waters. You can take an easy hike or a challenging cliff-ledge trail. There are several trails that lead to the Falls, including the National Pass Walking Trail, and can be seen from several lookouts.

3. Hanging Rock

Hanging Rock, also known as Mount Diogenes, is part of the Macedon Range of the Blue Mountains. You can hike Summit Trail, taking advantage of the shaded picnic grounds, and watch the native animals all over the trail. Hanging Rock hosts many events over the course of the year that you can enjoy!

4. Wombeyan Caves

Wombeyan Caves are a gorgeous formation that is off the radar a little, so it barely gets any crowds! The area around the caves has camping grounds and cabins for rent, and the beautiful Mares Forest Creek Canyon. There are several self-guided tours through different parts of the caves, so take your time and enjoy your experience.

5. Katoomba

Katoomba is the largest of the three main destinations towns in the Blue Mountains. It started out as a coal-mining town0 but quickly became a popular resort. Katoomba’s central location in the mountains makes a great touchstone for your Blue Mountains tours, and while you’re there, visit the many boutique shops in town!

6. Blue Mountains Botanical Garden

The Blue Mountains Botanical Garden is famous for its cool-climate plants. It is also the highest botanical garden in Australia, at three-hundred meters above sea level. Highlights include The Jungle, a large section of Blue Mountains rain forest.

7. The Three Sisters

The Three Sisters, located near Katoomba, is the most famous tourist destination in the Blue Mountains. These sandstone pillars stretch over nine-hundred meters above Jamison Valley, offering a beautiful mist-shrouded view. The best viewing area is Echo Point, which is the beginning of many of the local trails.

8. Jenolan Caves

The more popular cousin to the Wombeyan Caves, the Jenolan Caves reside on the southwestern edge of the Blue Mountains. Some of the oldest caves in the world, the limestone formations of the ten caves that make up the Jenolan formation have many themed tours. The wilderness around the caves offers hiking trails and bush cottages to rent.
