A Guide to Planning a Trip to the Beach

Trip to the Beach

The weather is getting warmer and the days are growing longer, which means you need to start planning a trip to the beach!

While it seems simple enough to plan a day out by the sea, there are important factors to consider. You can’t just get in the car and go! You have to make sure you’re fully prepared to make the most of your beach trip.

Whether or not it’s your first time visiting a beach or you just need a refresher after winter, keep reading for your guide to planning a beach trip.

Find a Beach

The most important step in planning your beach days is to pick what beach you want to go to. Take into account distance, highways, and tolls when picking your beach.

Make sure to do your research before you decide! You’ll want to check beach pricing, parking proximity, and costs, whether or not there are public bathrooms, as well as what to do and different activities in the area.

Pack Your Bag

There’s nothing worse than getting settled in at the beach, only to realize you left something important at home! This can ruin the entire day out. Make sure you’re fully packed and prepared before heading out for fun in the sun.

Whether you use a pre-made packing list or make your own, be sure to remember the personal items that you’ll need. This can include medications, a good beach read, and feminine products.

Be sure to pack sunscreen! Nothing can ruin the fun memories you make at the beach quicker than a nasty and painful sunburn

Grab Your Suit

When spending a day visiting the beach, you’ll want to make sure you have a comfortable and functional bathing suit.

Make sure your suit fits properly and isn’t too big or small. This can cause issues when swimming in the ocean! You don’t want any embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions.

Also, be sure to consider tan lines! Even though unique bathing suits can be cute for pictures, funky straps can create strange tan lines that ruin dresses and outfits.

Plan Your Meals

Don’t forget to plan your meals out before heading for a day out at the beach. If you’re only visiting for an hour or two you may only need a few snacks. If you’re spending the day, you’ll want to pick up lunch!

A cooler is essential to bringing any kind of food to the beach with you. Not only can it keep sandwiches or other lunch options cool, but it keeps your water cold, keeping you well hydrated.

Look into local restaurants that you can stop at before you head home. Similarly, you can see if they have take-out options if you prefer to eat in the car on the way home.

Enjoy Your Beach Trip

Don’t let improper planning ruin your relaxing day at the beach!

Make sure your trip is fully planned before hitting the road to ensure that you can make the most of your beach trip. This will help you enjoy your day, without a worry in the world!
